Overview — Pervasive Data Adapters for Oracle

Pervasive Data Adapters for Oracle Application Server enable rapid access to heterogeneous data and offer the unique capability to process non-relational and semi-structured content that is buried throughout most companies. Our adapters eliminate the complexity of low-level interface coding, while reducing cost, time, and risk.

Pervasive Adapters access, transform, and create composite services from disparate sources and provide universal accessibility for the Oracle^® BPEL Process Manager and the entire Oracle business integration suite. These composite data services perform meaningful work and are coarse-grain Web Services that are combined into macro-level applications and business processes by the Oracle BPEL Process Manager.

The comprehensive set of over 200 adapters allows a broad range of seamless connectivity to file systems, databases, message buses, EDI networks, Web-enabled applications, business applications, and industry-standard protocols on numerous platforms. To enable wide use and deployment, adapters can be purchased as a complete set or in six adapter packages that allow companies to receive the most commonly related adapters together.

Composite Data Services

Pervasive composite data services offer developers using Oracle Business Integration platform the coarse granularity to build reusable components based on Web Services standards. Pervasive Adapters provide a flexible design-time experience for rapid development of composite data services. The development GUI has built-in support for introspection of data and application metadata, and automatically generates the metadata.
